Albania is a land where communist dictatorship ruled for half a century, a land in which Satan destroyed all the churches and murdered God's faithful people, a land in which the people were forbidden to worship the Lord or know God's Word, a land where athesim ruled and was enforced by the Constitution, and a land in which many Christians were brutally executed for possessing God's Word. Yes, Albania has been one of Satan's strongest fortress in the world for centuries.

But God did not forget Albania, and He has a wonderful plan to spread His Light to the lost who live in that dark territory. God put a burden on Vladimir's heart to take God's Word to his countrymen in their native tongue. He has been working hard for the last five years to finish the Albanian New Testament translated directly from Biblical Greek. It is now finished!!! May all the glory be to our Lord Jesus Christ! This project was sponsered by Shadow Mountain Community Church, their home church in San Diego. Albanians now have an accurate translation of the New Testament in their language, along with an AlbanianGreek Interlinear version, a commentary, a concordance, and a Greek-Albanian dictionary of the New Testament.

However, the battle is not yet over! The Word would not be complete without the Old Testament and the Albanians need the entire Holy Scripture in their own language. This is what Vladimir and his family are praying for and working towards. After studying Biblical Hebrew in seminary, Vladimir and his team are now ready to start this new challenge: to translate the Old Testament into Albanian from Hebrew, along with the Albanian-Hebrew Interlinear version, a commentary, a concordance, and a Hebrew-Albanian dictionary.

What a joy to see this young Albanian scholar devote his life to Jesus Christ and use the gifts God has graciously given him to take the Word to his own spiritually deprived people! The communist dictatorship and political turmoil have forced more than a million unreached Albanians to flee from their land and settle overseas. Using this recently translated Albanian New Testament, Vladimir and his family are now introducing Jesus Christ to these displaced Albanians who don't know the glory of our Lord. They are building a bridge to cross over the gap to reach the lost and help them see the Light. Vladimir and his family, as missionaries of ABWE (Association of Baptists for World Evangelism) are currently involved in filling the GAP (Global Access Partnership), a ministry developed under the auspices of ABWE, so that the Albanians will soon have the entire truth of God's Word in their hands.

The Albanian Old Testament Project needs prayers, lots of prayers, support and encouragement.
