July 2004
Dear Tom and family,
Hi, good to hear from you. We arrived home to our house at the Ranch last
night about 5pm. We had a good trip across the border with no problems and
without having to pay anything. Both vehicles continue to run well. We still
have most of what we hauled in the trailer stored up in El Paso, but hope to
get it brought down in the next few weeks.
Our animals seemed to remember us and were glad to see us. They have quickly
become part of the family again. It is good to be home. Our house is overrun
with cockroaches, which is quite unpleasant, but hopefully we'll get those
under control soon. What we had stored here at the Ranch was covered in dust.
It took us all morning to blow the dust off each box or item with the
compressor and get it hauled over to our house. Now we just need to unpack
it. Mice had gotten into a few things, but nothing was damaged.
Thanks so much Tom for getting Mom set up again with email. I appreciate all
your hard work.
We miss you all. Keep in touch when you can. We know how busy you are!
Following is what we are doing and prayer requests.
_________________________________________________________________________
We are done traveling for now. We praise the Lord for a safe trip from CA to
El Paso and then down here to Chihuahua. Thanks for praying.
We will be taking Becky up to Missouri in August. She needs to be at the
school on August 19th.
We'd appreciate prayer as we settle back into our house and life here at the
Institute.
Please pray that we would quickly be able to get the rest of our boxes brought
down from El Paso. Ken may go up in a week or so for another load.
After we are settled we will begin taking on some of the responsibilities that
our co-workers are shouldering at this time. We need wisdom from the Lord for
working together with our partners to accomplish all that needs to be done
before the start of the next semester of classes.
Work Teams will be coming all summer. Please pray for safety for them.
Thank you for your prayers.
Ken and Betty Tibberts
The Tibbberts live at a missionary
training center near the city of Chihuahua, Mexico. They work with several
other missionary families at this Missions Institute. Ken teaches, disciples
and trains Mexican missionary candidates. The training includes Bible
teaching, language learning and linguistics, Bible translation, and
many other practical courses designed for preparing Mexican Christians
for crosscultural tribal ministry. Betty cares for their family, is
involved in discipleship of women candidates, does the bookkeeping for
the training center, and has a support ministry of hospitality and encouragement.

Family
We now have three teenagers in the house. Becky is a Senior this year
and is looking to the Lord for His will for her college education. Julie
is a Sophomore and is student council secretary. Kara is 13 and plays
soccer with her school's team. We thank the Lord for continued wisdom
and grace for each day and praise Him for His faithfulness in our lives.
Ministry
We are nearing the end of another semester here at the Missions Institute.
We have twenty students who are in different stages of their missionary
training. Please pray for good relationships with the students and that
we would be sensitive to how God leads us to be involved in their lives.
Future
We would appreciate your prayers as we begin to plan our furlough beginning
in June 2003. Our desire is to settle once again in Redding, California
where our home church is located. Betty's parents are now retired and
living in Redding. We look forward to being near them for the year.
Friends and Supporters
Thank you so much for being involved in our lives and ministry during
this past year. Your prayers have encouraged and blessed us. We thank
the Lord for your investment of time in prayer and for your financial
support. The Lord is using you to move forward the work of tribal evangelism
here in Mexico.
For His Glory,
Ken and Betty Tibberts

SEPTEMBER 2002
Dear Friends,
Thank you for praying for our family and our ministry here in Mexico. It's hard to believe that four years have already gone by since we first arrived in Mexico! We will be waiting for one more year before taking a furlough. This will allow Becky to graduate from Binimea, the school for missionaries' children, at the end of this school year. Lord willing we'll be be in the USA from June 2003 to June 2004.
This past summer was busy with a number of work teams coming to help with the construction of student housing for the Missions Institute. A 4-plex is nearing completion and several other projects are underway.
This semester is going well here at the Institute. We have 9 students: three couples, two single guys and one single girl. Please pray for us as we endeavor to disciple and train these missionary candidates.
Our daughters have had a good start to their school year. Becky and Julie will be gone for a few days this month at a camp for the school's Spiritual Emphasis week. Thanks for praying for Becky this past summer. She had a great time at Summit Ministries in Colorado. It was challenging and very beneficial for her.
Thank you so much for partnering with us in reaching those who have
never heard. We appreciate so much your prayers and support, and count
it a privilege to serve together with you.
In His Love,
Ken and Betty Tibberts
MARCH 2002
Dear Friends,
Psalm 145:9 says, "The Lord is good to all, and his tender mercies are over all his works."
We have seen and experienced the Lord's goodness and tender mercies
in many ways over the past few months
..
Becky just turned 17 this week. The Lord
gave her the privilege recently of going on a skiing trip to Denver,
Colorado. It was a special time of fun and friendships.
Julie will be 15 in a few weeks. The Lord
has answered prayer on her behalf in the area of learning Spanish. Last
weekend she gave her testimony in Spanish at our church's youth group.
Kara is 12 and in the 6th grade. We are
thankful for the good friends she has at school. She has a sweet and
kind spirit.
Betty was able to go on a Women's Retreat
at the end of February. It was a refreshing time in the Word and she
enjoyed the fellowship with other missionary women. The women's Bible
Study at our Mexican church is something she looks forward to each week.
I (Ken) continue to be involved in various
responsibilities in the Mexican church we attend, including teaching
and preaching opportunities. Translation of new course material and
preparation for teaching classes here at the Institute keeps me busy,
as well as participation when possible in our construction projects.
Students: Another semester in our Missions
Institute will be drawing to a close soon, and several more of our Mexican
missionary candidates will be sent out as full-time missionaries. Please
continue to pray for us as we teach, disciple and train these dedicated
Mexican believers for cross-cultural tribal ministry.
Institute development: With the help of
work teams from the U.S.A. and Canada, the walls are up and the roof
is almost done on a new student 4-plex. We still have plans for building
at least one more teacher's house, a basketball court, and a small classsroom/office
building.
July, 2002
Dear Friends,
Thank you for your prayers for our family and ministry.
The last week of May we attended our annual week long conference with all the NTM missionaries here in Mexico. The special speaker was Pastor Dale Burke of the First Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton, CA. (he replaced Chuck Swindoll there). We enjoyed his speaking and were challenged especially in the area of servanthood.
For the first three weeks of June, Ken was in Rochester, Minnesota accompanying a Mexican couple, Javier and Cristina Martinez, who are friends and fellow missionaries. Javier had a malignant tumor on his carotid artery and needed surgery. Through many miraculous things of the Lord, Javier was able to get an appointment at the Mayo Clinic and receive the help he needed. The Clinic even paid for all his tests and the surgery, and will pay for radiation treatment. Ken went along to translate, drive them back and forth from the clinic, and help in any way he could. He returned home on the 21st of June.
We have been busy here at the Institute with work teams. Much progress is being made on construction of a four-plex for student housing. The goal is to have at least two of the apartments ready for students by mid-August.
Our oldest daughter Becky leaves in two weeks for her time at Summit Ministries in Colorado. We are trusting the Lord to teach her and encourage her through her time there.
Praise the Lord with us for ..
- Safety with the work teams and progress being made on Institute construction.
- All the Lord did for Javier and Cristina Martinez at Mayo Clinic.
- Gods faithfulness in our lives.
Please pray with us for .
- Needed work to be completed on the various construction projects.
- Safety in traveling for Becky to Colorado on the 21st of July and return on August 2nd., and for a prepared heart for all God has to teach her.
- For our incoming Missions Institute students for the fall semester.
- For Ken as he prepares for classes, and his leadership responsibilities in the National Training Program.
Love in Christ,
Betty (for the family)
